MK4 Jetta Mud Flaps: Fitment Guide (1999-2010)

MK4 Jetta Mud Flaps: Fitment Guide (1999-2010)

Do mk4 jetta mud flaps fit without drilling? If you're searching for them, you probably want to know before you order: do they actually fit your car, what's in the set, and how hard is the install. I made these for my own MK4 first — the front corners are the first place these cars rust, and I wanted mine to look presentable there. Here's the straight fitment answer.

Will they fit your 1999-2010 Jetta or Golf?

They fit MK4 Golfs and Jettas, 1999-2010, including the City models. The front corners are where the rust starts on these cars, which is exactly where the front set covers.

Two things that do not fit: wagon rears, and rear GLI bumpers. If you have a wagon or a GLI and you need rear coverage, message me before you order and I'll tell you honestly what works.

The standard listing is the front mudflaps. Need the rear, front and rear, or the rocker guards? Same thing — message me before you order and I'll get it sorted.

No drilling — they use the factory mounting holes

Every one of these mounts with the factory mounting holes. You're not drilling into the fender, and you're not relying on glue or double-sided tape to hold the part up.

The install, per corner:

  1. Put the mudflap between the wheel and the fender.
  2. Line up the tab in the middle of the mudflap with the slot on the bottom of the fender.
  3. Push toward the back of the car till it clicks into place.
  4. Insert the screws, hold it tight to the body, tighten.

That's the whole job. It's the kind of thing you do with the car up on jack stands and a screwdriver in your hand while you grab coffee. No special tools, no permanent modification — if you ever resell the car, the flaps come off and the holes are the ones the car always had.

Built-in drains so water doesn't pool

Flat plastic that sits close to the car collects water, and in the winter that water freezes and the flap ends up bonded to the fender. These have built-in drains so water passes through instead of pooling.

The 2025 update added 2 more drain holes, and the flaps don't hang as low on the car — good for standard height and lowered cars. The update is also a new stiff-but-flexible material, which makes installation easier and improves durability.

One honest note: they're 3D printed, so expect the small characteristics that come with 3D printing. I've been running mine for months without any issue.

The set

The 1999-2010 VW MK4 Jetta/Golf Custom Mudflaps are made in Canada. Front set in the box, and everything else (rear, front and rear, rocker guards) is one message away.

More for the MK4

If the mudflaps solved the rust problem for you, the Volkswagen collection is where I'm building out more parts that fit the way they should. If your VW needs something that doesn't exist, send me a photo — that's basically what this store is.
